Is it happening in 2026?

It comes out every December 31, but the 2026 times and routes are not out yet. In 2025 the city parade started at 11am, Gràcia's at 10:30am, and Poblenou's at 11am, ending at 1pm. December 31, 2026 falls on a Thursday.

How do I explain the joke to my kid?

Ask them the riddle first: how many noses does a man have if he has one for each day left in the year? On December 31 the answer is one, so the Home dels Nassos looks just like everyone else. Catalan grandparents love telling kids to go and find him that morning.

Will toddlers like it?

Most do. The capgrossos are giant painted heads worn by dancers, which can startle very small kids up close, but the mood is silly and cheerful, with live music. Standing a little back from the front row helps shy kids.

Which one should we go to?

The city parade is the biggest, with the most figures and the key ceremony at Plaça de Sant Jaume. Gràcia's and Poblenou's are smaller, neighborhood affairs where kids can get closer. Poble-sec has had its own since 2022, but its 2025 route and times were never confirmed.

Gràcia's own Home dels Nassos is modeled on Francesc Derch, the last mayor of the once-independent town, and tours its streets, squares and markets (2025: 10:30am from La Violeta)
Morning timing suits small kids: it is all over by lunchtime, long before the late-night fireworks
