Do we have to stay the whole time or can we just do the photocall and leave?

You can hit the photocall and go. The Platform 9¾ setup and LEGO sculptures are open during all mall hours, so you're not locked into a schedule. If your kids want to try the Quidditch games or building area, those only run Friday 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday 11:00am to 1:00pm and 4:00pm to 8:00pm, so plan around that if it matters to you.

Is the costume contest worth entering or is it just a small thing?

If your kid loves dressing up, it's worth considering. The prizes are real: a €100 gift card for first place, €75 for second, €50 for third, plus Harry Potter merchandise. There are three age categories (3 to 8, 9 to 17, and adults), so your kid isn't competing against teenagers. Sign-up ahead of time is required and spots are limited; on the day, entrants pick up their number between 4:00pm and 5:00pm before the 5:00pm start.

How long should we plan to spend there?

Is there parking and is it easy to get in and out on a Saturday?

Gran Via 2 has a big parking garage, so you won't be hunting for street spots. Saturdays are busy mall days, so expect it to fill up mid-morning and early evening. Going right at the 11:00am play-zone opening or during the afternoon lull around 2:00pm to 3:00pm makes it easier.
